I would like some feedback on a possible idea to lure some people out of lurk mode... I am calling this a challenge cuz I don't think there will be any prizes involved... but here goes... Our simmergirls are delicately feminine and we concentrate on their clothes, makeup and appearance... but a girl also needs to be in a feminine environment... So what does every body think about a room design challenge? Thinking starting out with the bedroom and then moving on to other areas of the house. If anyone is interested... I'll get some rules together. |

Very good idea. Just getting new ideas for room design is a prize in itself... Not sure about anyone else, but sometimes I find myself in rut when it comes to room design, so new ideas are very welcome. |

Rules? What rules? Mwahaha! Here's one of my favorite bedroom sets, that I've used in several houses just because I like it. The set features dark woods and pink highlights, a small bathroom for the man of the house, and a large, spacious bathroom for the lady of the house. (When I have two women/Simmergirls living together, they get bathroom space of equal size! Girls need more space!)
Here's a suite design that works out equally well for space.
Here's one of my favorite teen bedrooms, in the dark woods with pink highlights, and adjoining baths:
Here's another teen set, where the walls and carpet are pretty much the same as above, but the furniture has changed to the new teen style stuff:
And finally, a different floor plan, based on the furniture from teen style stuff:

Last night, I showed you various rooms from various houses. Today, I'd like to concentrate on a tour of just one of my houses. First, I like the idea behind the Maxis 3 story townhouse that comes with the game, or one of the EPs, can't remember which, but the house is just too small and it has no backyard/garden to speak of so I decided long ago to make my own version on a much bigger lot. I'm currently up to roughly my 5th revision of my townhouse, and here's a neighborhood view to show that I really do like this design a lot!
High up on the hill to the left of the pic though, I started a new neighborhood area and have one house there so far where the Magnum's live.
That's a nice view that gives you a good overview of the lot. Here's a front view:
I really like the bay window on the right side of the house, and so do the cats in my game! I often see the cats sitting on the bay window ledges enjoying looking out and watching "Cat TV." Here's a nice view of the backyard/garden where Natasha is currently harvesting apples and lemons from her fruit trees (the oranges were harvested yesterday) and Thomas is putting out compost in the greenhouse as the veggies in the greenhouse have all been harvested and it's time for a new planting already.
I really like the curved pool walls that came with Seasons, and of course my hot Simmergirls enjoy having a very romantic hot tub near the pool, too! Next is a pic of the front of the house, where we also start to see the inside, and includes Thomas' Ferrari 288 GTO in the driveway and Natasha's Ferrari 550 in the garage.
BTW, credit here to Maximum Spider for his wonderful Ferraris, which you can find on his webpage here. Also, totally off the subject for a moment, but I love Ferraris, and this is just SOME of the many different models he's made!
Okay, back to the house, and another view of the downstairs office area, the garage, game room, and stairs going up...
Oh, and before we move on to the second floor, here's an overhead view of what we've seen so far:
Here's the second floor, looking from the dining room into the living room, with the living room dividing wall in the down position.
As you can tell by now, I really like deep, dark woods highlighted by bright pinks for contrast. It gives the rooms a nice, warm, homey feel to me. Here's looking from the living room back into the kitchen:
And the overhead view:
Now we're up to the third floor and the main bedroom:
The adjoining baths:
And a room for the kids they haven't had...yet...
And finally, the third floor overhead view:

Wow, Synthia! That's a truly amazing resort you've got there! I can't imagine how much time you must have spent building that. That's really cool. Thanks for the tour! |

As Walt Disney said... It will never be finished! One of the things that I have enjoyed most about this challange is that we all learn just a little more about each other! That brings continuity to our games and adds a sense of community here! Actually, I already have all of our Self Sims visiting here on a regular basis... welcome! |
