I just got my hands on Bon Voyage but I haven't loaded it yet.  I want to finish a project in BodyShop and do a backup of all my simmies and their stuff, first.

I gave Seasons a miss when it came out because there wasn't really anything that appealed to me there, but this new EP promises new jewelry, apparently includes new aspirations and turn-ons/offs (from pics I've seen) and according to the box includes a new hotel check-in desk!  Hmm, I could use one of those in a certain resort ... hope it's available in the neighborhood!

I'll keep you posted.

I seem to have survived the install of Bon Voyage.  I DON'T like the new "launcher" that comes up when I double-click the game icon.  Now I have to click the icon, and then click on "Play" in the launcher while EA seems to have an extra opportunity to show me their latest advertising.  #$#%#$%!

The hotel check-in desk doesn't seem to be available in the neighborhood.  I'm going to have to find a way to recategorize that.

The jewelry isn't bad for females, for males and Simmergirl's it's very disappointing (no, I'm not surprised by that), tiny silver and gold hoops, although I like the little red studs for males, but I can't get a decent picture of them.  Unfortunately, for males and females, you have to set earrings for each ear individually.  That sucks.  They've never heard of sets or having both your ears pierced, obviously.  (I actually have double-piercings in each ear, and they're not even considering that...)  SO, a lot of conversions of the female jewels to males will be necessary.  And I haven't even opened the new BodyShop yet to see if that's possible.  There are separate things for rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets/watches, and other which seems to be nose rings, the pics are too small to tell what they are for sure.

I haven't even looked at the Vacation zones yet, it took me 2 hours just to get thru the install, the restart with custom content, and to go jewelry shopping down the street from the resort.

One thing I DO like...you can choose to set different hairstyles now per outfit!  An everyday outfit hairstyle, a formal style, bed hair, etc.  That's pretty cool!

I haven't noticed any new hairstyles, and I didn't even look to see if there's new clothes yet.  I don't think there's either.

The booklet says you can have a camera now, maybe I missed something though.  I don't know where you get it, I tried to buy new electronics and it's the same old phone/game/mp3 player.  A "digital camera" would have been a nice thing to buy.

On the PLUS side, my current "Pets" version of Insimenator seems to be working properly, and all my old Squinge hacks seem to be working too, even though I got a page full of warning messages about them the first time the game ran.

Oh, and while there doesn't seem to be any new aspirations, there are new turn-ons/offs, so now your sims can be turned on/off by werewolves, plantsims, and robots in addition to vampires.  And your sims can now be turned on/off to jewelry, hard-workers, unemployed, and a few other things.

So, overall, so far, meh... 4 out of 10.  And that's only cause I like setting hairstyles to outfits.  Once I get the jewelry conversions going, maybe they'll be up to 5 or 6.  But they still get a -2 for the new launcher, so max score possible is 3 or 4.

The new BodyShop doesn't let you play with the new jewelry.  That's -3 points.

There are 3 new female hairstyles, I kind of like one of them, but it doesn't work with a direct conversion to male.  The mesh would need to be "stretched" to cover the top of the head.

There are some new female clothes, but nothing I'm excited about, but I haven't looked through all categories yet either.

I want to figure out how to make the female jewelry work for guys.  There has to be a way...

I haven't bought it yet, waiting to see what kind of bugs and problems it causes. Have you had any issues? I have all the ep's and stuff packs, pet's and season was fun dealing with the issue's.

I hear you.  I have all the EP's now except Seasons.  Pets was a nightmare before the patches, especially when making clothes that nobody else could use, argh! and the only stuff pack I have is Glamour Life.

So far, Bon Voyage hasn't given me any grief, and I have a 5 year old Gateway P-4 with only a gig of RAM and a very new 256K graphics accelerator, but I haven't actually taken any sims on a vacation yet, either!  I've been setting up modeling shots in my same old neighborhood while making clothes, and haven't actually been playing the game yet.  That and trying to figure out how to make the female jewelry work for males.  (Still can't believe it's not available in BodyShop)

On the plus side, the graphics in both the game and BodyShop look a lot brighter and sharper now.  I think they did a lot of graphics performance boosts in this EP.

And they did one thing I just discovered in the game that I actually like.  They improved the inventory system so instead of my simmies having 10 individual bottles of perfume in their inventory it now says x10 like this...

Now as soon as I get over my current creative fever, I have to play the game and find out what happens on vacation.  If there's bugs and problems, that's when I expect to find them.

Hey, it's cool.  Somebody has to be the "guniea pig," right?

Another thing I noticed is that I can make Seasons/Outerwear now.  It didn't give me any, but I have the option to make and use them.  That could prove interesting down the road.

Yep, I saw a lot of reports of massive problems too, like tons of newspapers piling up on the lawn, but I haven't had any of those problems.  And all my hacks seem to be working, although I haven't yet tested them all, but Inismenator is working fine!
