I seem to have survived the install of Bon Voyage. I DON'T like the new "launcher" that comes up when I double-click the game icon. Now I have to click the icon, and then click on "Play" in the launcher while EA seems to have an extra opportunity to show me their latest advertising. #$#%#$%!
The hotel check-in desk doesn't seem to be available in the neighborhood. I'm going to have to find a way to recategorize that.
The jewelry isn't bad for females, for males and Simmergirl's it's very disappointing (no, I'm not surprised by that), tiny silver and gold hoops, although I like the little red studs for males, but I can't get a decent picture of them. Unfortunately, for males and females, you have to set earrings for each ear individually. That sucks. They've never heard of sets or having both your ears pierced, obviously. (I actually have double-piercings in each ear, and they're not even considering that...) SO, a lot of conversions of the female jewels to males will be necessary. And I haven't even opened the new BodyShop yet to see if that's possible. There are separate things for rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets/watches, and other which seems to be nose rings, the pics are too small to tell what they are for sure.
I haven't even looked at the Vacation zones yet, it took me 2 hours just to get thru the install, the restart with custom content, and to go jewelry shopping down the street from the resort.
One thing I DO like...you can choose to set different hairstyles now per outfit! An everyday outfit hairstyle, a formal style, bed hair, etc. That's pretty cool!
I haven't noticed any new hairstyles, and I didn't even look to see if there's new clothes yet. I don't think there's either.
The booklet says you can have a camera now, maybe I missed something though. I don't know where you get it, I tried to buy new electronics and it's the same old phone/game/mp3 player. A "digital camera" would have been a nice thing to buy.
On the PLUS side, my current "Pets" version of Insimenator seems to be working properly, and all my old Squinge hacks seem to be working too, even though I got a page full of warning messages about them the first time the game ran.
Oh, and while there doesn't seem to be any new aspirations, there are new turn-ons/offs, so now your sims can be turned on/off by werewolves, plantsims, and robots in addition to vampires. And your sims can now be turned on/off to jewelry, hard-workers, unemployed, and a few other things.
So, overall, so far, meh... 4 out of 10. And that's only cause I like setting hairstyles to outfits. Once I get the jewelry conversions going, maybe they'll be up to 5 or 6. But they still get a -2 for the new launcher, so max score possible is 3 or 4.
