Why are you expecting to be banned, g? Smile  The friendly advice I gave V above was simply a warning that other mods may have mistaken a post as spam. I was merely trying to help, since vetxl is NOT a spammer.  I'm still a little confused by that post; I don't know what Vetxl was saying.

This site was bogged down with 17,000 spam messages over the course of 24 hours a few months ago.  I think it was the saddest day I ever visited the internet.  All our hard work and conversations were buried beneath sales pitches for golf clubs and fake designer handbags.  Christine revamped the site, "killed" all the spam, and promoted me to the rank of moderator, since I still haunt this site every day, and there's no way Christine and Selina can do it alone.

I had NO idea how difficult it is to run a forum such as this.  Oh, it LOOKS easy enough.  Now that I've taken a step "behind the curtain," let me tell you, it's FAR from easy! Cry  I thought it would be a matter of "find spammer, delete spammer, ban spammer, watch all spams disappear."  It's nowhere NEAR that easy...

I don't know why you think there's an "exclusive" crowd here.  I don't think I've ever come across that way.  We WELCOME conversation here...does it seem that way to you because so few people ever post here?

You used to post all the time!  I'd know that avatar anywhere (and I want all those shoes for myself)!  What happened to you?  Please, please, PLEASE tell me why you think that we're an exclusive crowd.  Maybe I can convince you that we're not.

Either way, just post and keep posting...we need more "warm bodies" around here!

vetxcl and gsteinum are one and the same.(As may already be known.) I'd changed web browsers quite awhile ago, so rather than keep the same moniker; I changed it. Good advice, for those freaquently on the net.  Helps to keep down phishing. So, anyway, I was experiencing trouble posting as vetxcl, after signing in - and was, then successfully able to post as gsteinum. By that time, I was a bit irked. The sarcasm I posted is the observable verbiage. Often, things said with anger can be a tad irrational/ misplaced.
Normally, I don't interact on fansites, as the exchanges can get a bit heated. My general take is that if it's not "Gosh, what a great thing," then it's treated as harsh criticism - much like any unsolicited feedback is often reacted to. I tend to be too direct and verbose, which can encourage that sort of thing, as well.

Naturally, I felt some connection here. So, have taken the liberty to open up a bit - from time to time. I'm fairly old-school about being completely open online. I'm not adverse to posting my opinions on sites such as Huffington Post (now what I call AOLpo,) but interacting in this artificial construct, as if I were in-person, is not for me.  Occationally, as you may notice, I have my verbose moments. Maybe, I've had too much coffee and not enough sleep.

I can imagine that operating a web site can be time-consuming and more akin to playing chess or Jane Blond (Blond, Jane Blond) than simply typing. Once again, I encourage whomever makes the determination to stay away from facebook. This will cut back on the amount of newer spam. Twitter is a bit safer - a tighter run ship, as it were. Still it's a very popular URL, so stand by for much more spam. Again, on that issue, I already know there are other programs deployed here, as another moderator mentioned, in addition to yourself. So, I will venture forth information, in the context of a www, and in response to posts. Even so, I don't share much personal info online routinely. Check my profile for yourself.

Some of my vocabulary and syntax may be a bit unique to my profession, but I believe I've used up enough words for now.

Be well.
